In light of the new video game being released in a few weeks, I wanted to share with everyone the fascinating art that goes into developing a video game. Dead space has a very specific style and art direction and recently the publishers at EA released a book for the fans about this specific art style of the game. I found it to be incredibly interesting and one of the lead artists on the direction of how some of the aspects of the game would look was Jason Courtney who had a very good idea of how he wanted the game to look. It had to be scary and futuristic. Below are some of his renderings that helped shape how the game turned out.
