Yong Ho Ji designs his animal sculptures out of used tire material. For education, he attended Hongik University in Seoul and received his BFA in sculpture. Then later in 2008 he got his MFA in fine arts from New York University. He started out doing the mutant collection of his work where he somewhat transformed animal figures and even morphed together animals and humans such as the Minotaur. Through studying the anatomy of animals he creates realistic and mythical creatures. His process is to make metal frames of the structure of the animal and then build the tires upon that. He has appeared in many solo exhibitions and group exhibitions such as ones in New York, Amsterdam, Hong Kong, London, Korea, Spain, Japan and many more.
