Daniele Buetti is a Swiss artist that is notorious for defacing photographs of supermodels, which fea- ture scars, tattoos and disenchanted fragments of text. These works are from his collections Looking for Love Goodfellows and Dreams Result in More Dreams, which he is questioning the socially determined constructs of beauty and the commodification of sexuality and glamour. And we all know that sex sells. But has the commodification of sex gone too far in the mainstream world? With all that goes into the illusion of perfection and beauty in the photograph, Beutti uses text to express very personal feelings of what the model may be feeling. Thus tearing apart the illusion of what we may have thought to be beautiful/perfect.
